Freshly Squeezed: Small Lanes - M1LDL1FE

Bounce along to this synth-pop number by Singaporean indie stalwarts, M1LDL1FE. With a pumping synth bassline, straight drum grooves and soaring vocals, the song evokes images of late night drives to nowhere; nothing but open roads, street lamps pulsing overhead and the wind rushing past you. This imagery also comes about in the chorus: “I don’t really know where to go/Moving is the only thing right”. Reflective of the uncertain times we live in and how apprehension can keep us paralysed, Small Lanes serves as a reminder that it is okay to not have everything figured out - all we need to do is to keep moving. Put one foot in front of the other, do not be afraid to take the small lanes, for you never know if they might lead to a highway.
